Meet Mulch London’s urban gardeners.

Our small dedicated team has five-star ratings for customer care. We share a belief in making our city greener and more biodiverse. Mulch London is committed to low carbon gardening: we travel on cargo bikes, we garden in an aesthetic but non destructive way, and our planting plans add health benefits for humans, as well as providing forage for London’s birds and insects.

Alex Woollacott
director, gardener

Self-taught gardener Alex has been running the business since 2009, transforming it through his commitment to green transport, native planting and chemical-free gardening. Working with eco architects, Alex co-founded Landscape for Future to try to make positive change. He dreams of setting up an ecological plant nursery in Southwark.

Mark Moszoro
gardener

Mark has worked for Mulch London for 3.5 years; he took a one-year garden course at Capel Manor College. He has helped create gardens for a retirement home, a small block of flats and larger developments, and his tasks at Holland Park School include pruning the lime arbour in this photo.

Favourite green space Mark has been going to Gunnersbury Park all his life, as a young child, as a teenager and with his own children. He loves the park’s variety: the pond, the museum of Victorian life, the playing fields and gardens.

Rebecca Gear
gardener

Rebecca’s work for Mulch London over the last three years has included maintenance at Holland Park School, a range of private and commercial sites and the creation of a garden at Battersea Place retirement home. She has a degree in garden design as well as gardening industry qualifications.

Favourite green space Rebecca is a big fan of London’s parks, particularly the extensive woodlands of Hampstead Heath.

Roger Mallett
gardener

Roger’s gardening experience started when he was young: both his grandfathers taught him gardening hacks. He has been involved in a couple of community groups in southeast London, planting hedges and creating community gardens and allotment spaces. He has also done a bit of guerrilla gardening locally, and in 2019 Roger gained an allotment – a space that he treasures and nurtures.

“We have been working with Mulch London for months now and couldn't be happier. They are eco-minded and considerate of the natural landscape and habitats that our site houses. Communication is easy and collaborative. Their goal is to get the best out of our site and it shows.”
